Neil T. Kansari

Founder & Principal

Neil Kansari, as the principal and founder of TuvaK Investments has the sole responsibility for all of the investment decisions of TuvaK Funds.

Neil has extensive experience in the asset management industry, specifically with respect to investment research, portfolio management and trading. His experience and knowledge spans most major industries/sectors, and most major global markets. Prior to founding TuvaK Investments, Neil spent 16 plus years as a Research Analyst, Portfolio Manager/Sr. Portfolio Manager & Partner at Sands Capital Management, helping build various Global and Emerging Markets investment portfolios and co-managing billions of dollars in assets . During his long tenure at Sands Capital, Neil also conducted global macro research as part of his portfolio management duties.

Neil brings over two decades of business and investment experience. Prior to Sands Capital, Neil advised small and large fortune 500 companies on business strategy and operations at PRTM (a management consulting firm, now a unit of Price Waterhouse Coopers), and also spent the summer of 2007 Wall Street at Bear Stearns Research.

Neil has an MBA from Darden School of Business, University of Virginia (co-managed the Darden Fund), a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Virginia & a Bachelors in Electronics Engineering from University of Mumbai. His engineering background allows him to bring a strong quantitative and systems rigor to TuvaK’s investment philosophy & process.

Neil’s passion for markets, investing & trading started in early high school years, thanks to his father’s deep passion for the same subject. And thus “T” in TuvaK is homage to his Father’s first name. Neil has been a keen student of markets and has studied a variety of trading and investment philosophies/styles, for over three decades, and this passion is reflected in his craft.

Neil is also a member of Investment Committee overseeing the endowment of The Langley School in Northern VA.

Neil is an ex-state level soccer player. He currently resides in McLean, VA and is the proud father of two young kids.

Scott Barnes - CFO Team

Scott Barnes is the Founder and Managing Member of Leap District Advisors LLC, a boutique outsourced CFO advisory firm that manages and supports asset managers in their accounting, operational, and compliance processes. The firm has an expertise in equity/long short, managed futures, PE, real estate, as well as other strategies, and specializes in helping managers institutionalize their operations to comply with industry best practices. Before starting Leap District, Scott was the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer at Washington Harbour Partners, a Washington DC based asset management firm employing a fundamentally driven private and public long/short equity strategy with a focus on the TMT space. In his role, he put in place all non-investment processes, helping the firm institutionalize and grow AUM from $50 million to over $600 million in under two years.

Prior to that, he was the CFO of FORT, LP a $7 billion hedge fund with a focus on systematic trading strategies in both the futures and equity markets. From 2013 – 2020 he oversaw the accounting and operations functions during a period of dramatic growth, with assets under management increasing from $700 million to over $6 billion. During that time, Scott sat on the firm’s operating and risk committees and held board seats on its Cayman and UCITS fund vehicles. From 2012 – 2013 he served as Chief Operating Officer of Monsoon Capital, an alternative asset manager with a focus on various trading strategies in the Asia-Pacific markets. Prior to Monsoon Capital and from 2003 – 2012, he was Controller of Declaration Management & Research LLC, a registered investment advisor and wholly owned subsidiary of Manulife Financial, with a focus on fixed incomes trading strategies and over $10 billion in assets under management.

Scott graduated from the University of Wisconsin’s School of Business with a BBA in Accounting. He currently resides in the Washington, DC metro area.

Joseph Eperjesi - CFO Team

Joseph Eperjesi joined Leap District as a partner in 2024. He has 10+ years’ experience in the hedge fund and alternative asset space where he has been Controller for multiple multi-billion-dollar funds. From 2016 to 2023, he was Controller at FORT, LP where he helped scale the operations and accounting function as the firm grew from $1B to $7B in assets under management. Before joining Leap District, Joseph was Controller for Quest Partners LLC, a NYC-based $3B quantitative hedge fund trading across the futures, fx, and single name equity asset classes.

•Joseph began his career at a family office in his native Pittsburgh before joining Northern Trust Hedge Fund Services in Chicago where he gained broad experience across the alternative investment and regulatory landscape. Joseph is a CFA charter holder, inactive CPA, and graduate of the University of Pittsburgh. He currently resides in the Washington, DC metro area.

George Kalogeropoulos - CFO TEAM

George Kalogeropoulos joined Leap District as a Director in December 2024. He has 20+ years’ experience in the asset management industry overseeing disciplines ranging from fund operations, tax, audit, regulatory and compliance. Prior to joining Leap District, George was the CCO & Head of Operations at Global Delta Capital, a Boston-based systematic manager specializing in emerging and frontier markets. He previously served as the VP, Operations Manager at Acadian Asset Management, a $100B quantitative manager where he led a team that supported the operational infrastructure. His expertise spans internal controls, vendor engagements, contract negotiations, complex market access, fund strategy and vehicle structures.

George received a JD from the New England School of Law and holds a BA in Finance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He resides in the Southern Rhode Island area.
