Rodney Sullivan, CFA, CAIA

With over 25 years of experience as a leading investment researcher and thought leader, Rodney Sullivan has dedicated his career to strengthening the global investment community through pioneering research that bridges theory and practice. His influential work regularly appears in scholarly journals and industry publications, and he is frequently sought after as a speaker on global investment management.

Currently, Sullivan serves as Executive Director of the Richard A. Mayo Center for Asset Management at the University of Virginia Darden Graduate School of Business, where he provides strategic leadership for all Center initiatives and teaches MBA courses in investment management. He is also co-editor of the Journal of Alternative Investments and founder of Vesteer Wealth Management, an independent fee-only Registered Investment Advisor specializing in multi-generational wealth preservation and growth.

Previously, as Vice President and Head of Investment Content at AQR Capital Management, Sullivan established and led the firm's research editorial board while serving as a founding member of the AQR Asset Management Institute at the London Business School. Before AQR, he served as Head of Publications and Editor of the prestigious Financial Analysts Journal at CFA Institute, where he significantly elevated the publication's global influence and research impact.

Prior to that, Sullivan was Director of Research and Portfolio Manager at Anthem Healthcare, where he led research strategy and execution, including value-driven investment strategies and risk management for the overall portfolio. He also oversaw research for a successful high-yield credit portfolio, leveraging both quantitative and fundamental modeling to evaluate sectors, regions, and companies.

Sullivan holds both bachelor's and master's degrees in economics from Virginia Commonwealth University and has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designations. Based in Charlottesville, VA with his family, he maintains an active presence in the investment community through various leadership roles.
